Today i install the Deskstop beta please give tips what can i doing in first step.
I hope you reply me nearly.
- Every campaign that I've made from scratch in the desktop or imported
from a file has not uploaded. Every time it says "adgroup id is invalid
or missing" but it doesn't tell me how to fix that. So most of the
benefit of the desktop is non-existant to me. It's fine if I edit
something that was created online but never works if I create a
campaign on the desktop.
- Getting rid of the need to click "save" with every single change or addition would save a lot of time and frustration. If I've made a change it's obvious that I want it that way--that should be the default. If I've made a mistake then I can revert changes. Having to click "save" is just a major and unnecessary time waster.
- Click and drag would be great. Then if I needed to move ad or KW from one group to another I wouldn't have to copy, paste, then go back to the originals and delete them. Just adding the ability to cut (ctrl-x) and paste would help a lot. That's kind of a standard with any computer program so I don't know what copy and paste are there but not cut.
I'm glad to have the tool and looking forward to its improvement.
I'm reviving this thread in case any of you have any feedback about the latest update. For an overview, please see the blog post: adCenter Desktop (Beta) Updates.
As always, thank you for your feedback -- it's valuable to the Desktop team as they plan future iterations of the tool.

I just wish they would update their interface to be more like Adwords....and that people would use bing more. Microsoft seems to be dead when you compare the two...

We would like to have the ability to bulk change adgroup/campaign name for multiple adgroups/campaigns via adCenter desktop. Although the bulksheet has the column 'ID' for Type 'adgroup' or 'campaign', but it does not support the name changes. Upon local import completion of the csv file, adCenter sees that's a NEW adgroup/campagin. Since adgroup/campaign name is unquue, adding a new column 'previouls name' will help identify which to change, even ID is not present.
Thanks for the feedback. Currently the id column is only used for ads but we do have plans to expand this. I'll file a request to support this.
Thanks for your reply. I hope this feature can be supported even the adgroupID or campaignID are not available, since campaign name and adgroup name are unique.
Either 'ID' or 'Original Name' is sufficient for adcenter to know it's a name request. I understand that having an ID will be faster when looking up the adgroup object.
Do you have a rough idea when it will become available?
Thanks for getting back to me. The reason we need ID is that Ads can be dulicated, while campaignName, campaignName+adGroupName, campaignName+adGroupName+KW+Match Type are unique. So is it possible to make the name changes for campaign / adgroup not depending the ID column by having a new 'originalName' column? OR use ID column to put the originalName information?
OriginalName is not reliable since the name could have changed multiple times. However Id's are unique across all entities and never change (positive Id's only).
So when you have AdGroupId then you can find the parent CampaignId without using the name. Wouldn't that always work?
Currently we're planning to add this in the release coming out later this summer.
Make it compatible with Macs !
Thanks for your reply, Luc. Yes, ID will always work, but it requires to use API to get the campaign/adgroup dump or have to manually export the adgroup/campaign from the adcenter desktop. Our campaign build system is not storing publisher specific IDs.
Maybe 'OriginalName' is not a good name, what I mean is the current name of adgroup/campaign in the account. If the currentName is changed server times, and it's not found in local db of adcenter, adCenter desktop can prompt the user about this or just ignore this name change request. This is just easier for the users to dealing with name instead of IDs -- user provides name, adcenter looks up the ID by name ....
