I am writing a script to help customers choose the proper category to place their Bing Shopping products in, but I am having a hard time finding a reliable taxnomy file to reference. I have not been able to find a link... can someone tell me where I can find this updated taxonomy?
Is there a publically available taxonomy file that stays in the same location so that it can be referenced external of the adcenter account wall?
There is no taxonomy sheet you can download from Bing. Just go to the main shopping page and find the category you want, then cut and paste the breadcrumb.
OK, so you are suggesting we use Car & Garage > Motorcycle Accessories as a viable category? I don't see this breadcrumb you are suggesting.
Hello fourmat and Cli-MAXTom,
netballistics is correct: there is no public taxonomy sheet available.
In regards to your current situation: we have two feed file column options where categories can be listed. One is MerchantCategory, which should contain the merchants own taxonomy. The other is B_Shopping, which should contain one of the top-level categories listed on page 31 of the Bing Shopping Integration Guide (you can find more information about valid feed file columns within this guide as well). Neither of these columns is required in the feed file, but they are both recommended to help with categorization.
