I received an e-mail message yesterday saying:
"Congratulations! Your application for a Bing Shopping account under your adCenter account [Xxxxxxxxxxxx] has passed our Prospective Merchant Review and been approved. You can now log in to your Bing Shopping account and complete the onboarding steps on the Store Settings tab to activate your account.
Account Status: Inactive
Once you have uploaded a valid product feed, your products should appear on Bing Shopping in 1-6 days (average publishing time is 3 days). Please note that you no longer need to notify us for feed updates since the system will automatically process the file. For merchants using the upload method, please be sure to upload a feed at least once every 30 days and at most once a day. If this requirement is not met, your products will stop displaying."
I go to the Catalog tab and upload the catalog and it says that it will not allow catalog uploading until the account is active. So, apparently my application was approved but my account is still inactive?
There's no person's name or telephone number to call or write. What's up with this? It's totally unprofessional !!!!!!!!!! Is this what we can expect from the new cloud based computing model that Microsoft wants us to go to?
I REALLY wish someone would 'fix' this - I have the same problem....
The biggest problem Bing has at this point is that to get at the shopping feed, you have to get in from the adcenter - but then then adcenter does NOT support Bing Shopping?????? How stupid is this??? Bing Shopping, as part of Bing (Microsoft) can afford to create of website with easier access for merchants - so why haven't they? Are they playing a game or something? They just have not gotten their act together yet - still not connecting the dots in a manner that is useful to users - which is why they had a hard time competing with that other big search engine to begin with - PLEASE BING - get it together before we all just give up on you!
It can take up to 3 business days after initially setting up your account for the account to be fully Activated. After this has occurred, the "Account Status: Inactive" will change to "Account Status: Active". Once you have uploaded a feed file (see below) and it has been processed, this will change to "Account Status: Active (Publishing)".
In the meantime, a Catalog needs to be set up so we know how you are going to be supplying a feed file (this what the "Pending Catalog Setup" notification is indicating). There are two options, and you'll need to choose one in order to upload a feed file. These options are located by logging into your adCenter account, going to "Tools" in the upper-right, then "Bing Shopping Account Management", then the "Catalog Management" tab, then choosing one of these options:
The underlined instructions above are also how you can access all areas related to your Bing Shopping account from within adCenter.
Once the account has been Activated and you have chosen an option in Catalog Management, you can upload a feed file. As long as it conforms to the feed file requirements listed in the Bing Shopping Integration Guide, your products will begin displaying within 14 business days. If it has been more than 14 business days and there are still no products displaying, please fill out this contact form to get in touch with Bing Shopping support so they can take a look at your account and/or the feed file.
Let me know if you have any further questions by replying to this thread.
Thank you,JustinBing Shopping Onboarding Team
It has been 3 business MONTHS and it still says inactive. Maybe I need to wait for 3 business YEARS to be active?
I believe I have located your account: Customer name = "Compudirect"The Destination URL for the Bing Shopping account related to this adCenter account is "http://printermalls.com", which seems to match your username on these forums.
If this is indeed your Bing Shopping account, then it is still waiting for all configuration steps to be completed and saved. By logging into your adCenter account, going to "Tools" in the upper-right, then Bing Shopping Account Management, then the "Catalog Settings" tab, you will see a message in red that states:"Note: You haven't set up your catalog information yet. The next step is to create a catalog on the Catalog Management page."This is displaying because, although information has been entered, the "Save" button near the bottom of the page has not been clicked. Please double-check all information on this page, make any applicable changes, and then click "Save".
After this, please continue further and view the "FTP Settings" tab: you will see that there is no information entered here. Please fill out all required fields, hit the "Save" button, then allow 24 hours before trying to upload via FTP.
If the account I mentioned above is not your account, please reply to this thread with your company name, username, and/or adCenter account name. Once I have the correct information, I will investigate the account.
Same issue as Printermalls
Hi Land of Pillows,
We are still in our holiday stoppage for onboarding merchants. Once we have a published restarting date, you'll see it on the Bing Shopping home page.

I don't have any specific timelines as the list of applications is pretty long. I would recommend filling out the form at: advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/.../bing-shopping-support, to get a more specific timeline.
Have been waiting since Feb 10. Completed the form above, again. Cheers.
We've received your contact info. BTW, was this the same link that you used the two other times?
