Maybe I missed it but is there is a sample product data feed file anywhere. I have all of the attributes provided in section B but it would be nice to see an actual file. I know with some of the other shopping product feeds there are some odd ways that cells need to be formatted. I just don't want to go down the wrong path while creating the feed.
I don't think you've missed it - it appears that MS/Bing provides an Integration Guide and an Optimization Guide (both PDF's), but not a sample file anywhere.
It's a very good point - having had the experience on listing with 60+ shopping engines, I can tell you that having a sample feed does prevent quite a lot of "gotcha" moments - especially with things like the "Price" field, which some engines ask with a dollar sign, and others want just the numbers.
It would also be nice to see an explanation of any optional/custom fields, if they are allowed (a la Google Product Search, where you can create custom fields to your heart's content), as well as making the Taxonomy document easier to find.
Suggestion for Bing engineers - put all these documents into 1 place, and make it easy to locate.
Here's a print screen of the sample file I received.
So, they do send you a sample file, but only after / during signup?
Good to know.
We were signed up for Bing Cash back and received this when we converted over to Bing Shopping. So I would say before set up. Contact their email support for more information email@example.com
I'd be happy to post an example that you could use. I don't think attachments are allowed on this forum though. Give me a few, I'll create a file and host it on my store, then I'll post a link.
As promised, I've compiled an example feed file as defined by Bing's feed file specifications. You can download it directly from my site here:
