i am bidding on a keyword in exact match and in broad match modifier. both have a 10 for the QS. BMM is bidding 37% less then the exact match, but my BMM is still getting match to an exact query. 80% of what i spent on the BMM is when it served for an exact query.
How can i stop the BMM from showing for the exact match?
Thanks for your POST! The broad match identifier works almost like exact. You’re telling the system by using the identifier the specific word you want identified when using a keyword phrase. Only use either exact match type or use the identifier. I wouldn’t use both or you can run into these problems. Phrase match is in the middle. It isn’t restrictive like exact, but more restrictive than broad. Like targeting, don’t place yourself in a box either. Let the searcher decide if this is what their looking for or not. If you have the keyword too restricted it won’t do you any good. The second part of your question is the searcher queried on the exact level then exact is getting the match. As I said, you don’t need both. Even if you had the keywords on all three match types and the searcher typed it in exactly, exact would get the match. I’m attaching a link to our free training site, where you can find more extensive information.
