David is the General Manager for the Search Network at Microsoft Corporation. He is responsible for Network strategy formulation, product planning, product management and marketing, and monetization.
David’s career in the computer software industry spans over 20 years at various private and publicly held technology companies. Prior to joining Microsoft, David worked at Yahoo!, where he most recently served as Vice President of Search Advertising, responsible for growing its search marketplace and optimizing performance for consumers, advertisers and publishers. David was also the head of Sponsored Search Product Management and led the launch of the new Search Marketing Marketplace at Yahoo!. David held several senior roles at NetIQ Corporation, a leading provider of comprehensive IT systems and security management solutions. This included a stint as Vice President and General Manager of the VoIP Business Unit, where he was responsible for the division’s products, marketing and strategic relationships. He also held the roles of Vice President of Strategic Alliances, and Vice President Product Marketing, Management and Business Development. David began his online career at Netscape as the product manager for Netscape Windows NT web server.
David and his wife Phyllis have two children, a 16 year old daughter Samantha, and a 12 year old son Adam. When not working, David can be found watching Adam’s baseball and basketball games or Samantha’s soccer games and choir performances. David and the family love to travel and spend winter and summer weekends skiing and hiking in Lake Tahoe.
