From the demos you showed I can also see users being able to say "like on Facebook" so they can get further updates about brands in their Facebook page.

Now Ads are not consumer favorites, how are you going to address people being shown ads for things they do not support or do not like? Will you be using their bing search data as well as their tastes in movies, games and Facebook like to tailor appropriate ads for the viewers?

Especially if it means you guys are just going to use it as a tool to flood my console with spam, and right now that's what it sounds like to me.

That's not to say I don't find the potential interaction with advertisements intriguing. I just hope that the implementation of such a system would be done smartly and non-invasive to the consumer's experience with the console. If this however turns into something that will have ads popping up mid-game like annoying internet popups then consider me a lost sale.

Yes we Cannes: NUads and Kinect Deliver on the Promise of Interactive TV

I like this concept of NUAd's and Please say Windows Phone not Iphone.

I don't want adverts pushed to me through the XBox. I've pretty much given up on TV due to the amount of advertising on it, I use Firefox with Ad Block installed so I don't have to suffer adverts when web browsing, why on Earth would I subject myself to adverts when I want to relax and play a video game?

I just bought a 360 console with Kinect last week, this is enough for me not to use the Kinect and not to sign up for XBox Gold if it's the type of thing I can expect.

Here's some questions that consumers (not advertisers or marketers) will want answers to.

1. How do I opt out of NUads on the XBox?

2. If there's no way I can opt out are the NUads just going to be pushed to me through Kinect?

3. If I disconnect the Kinect sensor will I still receive NUads?

4. If we are receiving unsolicited ads through the XBox does this mean that XBox Gold Live membership will now be free?

Frankly this makes me either not want to use Kinect, not sign up for Xbox Live or just take the damn thing back to the store and get a PS3.

Yes we Cannes: NUads and Kinect Deliver on the Promise of Interactive TV

I see great poptential for Kinect however these example of how you might interact are lame. Everything they showed here is A) completely contrived, and B) irrelevant to the XBOX 360. What self-respecting teenager is going to share a completely generic (read: non-controversial) Coca-Cola ad? Furthermore, who is going to turn on their 360 just to sit through ads? If I say “near me” I get to click on a button that sends me a text with directions? Uninspired! There were far better ways to skin this cat and to do so in real-time during gameplay. Microsoft has chosen to ignore innovation as well as the dynamic of the mobile/tablet device yet again.
